For many the
greatest attraction of the Delmarva Peninsula is the outdoors. And
there are plenty of things to do. Depending on which is your favorite
activity, it could be an all year love affair.
This site is
still in development.
Some of the
topics to be covered by this Web site are:
Boating:
Since the peninsula is in a way an island, one that is full of rivers
and streams that flow to the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay and then into
the Atlanic Ocean, there are plenty of places to place a boat.
Anything from a small canoe or kayak, to a small motorboat,
to a sial boat, to a cabin crusier, well I'm sure you get the idea,
Cycling:
The
quiet roads and the bike paths are a great
place to jump onto a bicycle to take a nice view of the quiet county
side. And for those that want a little more speed in their
bike ride, just jump on your motorcycle and ride the roads to the beach.
Fishing:
Whether you are a sport fisherman who fishes the waters of the Atlantic
for the big fish or just tossing a road and reel into the quiet
neighborhood stream. It's not hard to find a nice place to go.
Hiking:
State Parks or Forests or just a nice stroll on a trail built in the
neighborhood park.
Hunting:
While maybe this isn't as popular as it was 30 or 40 years agao, many
still find themselves in the fields or in the woods, or on the river
and ponds waiting for that perfect game to pass them. Frank Bulter,
Annie Oakley's husband, called the Delmarva Peninsula a Sportman's
Paradise. And he call it that for the abundance of game to hunt and
fish.
Sports:
Covering whatevere else there may be to do on the peninsula.
We will be working on the site one section at a time and putting it
online until the final site is complete. Let us know your
favorite outdoor activity.
